First Delivery Marks Second New Boeing Freighter to be Fit with TIMCO’s 2054 Business Seat
Greensboro, North Carolina – 26 October 2011…TIMCO Aerosystems, a unit of TIMCO Aviation Services (“TIMCO”), announced today that its Model 2054 seats were installed on the first 747-8 Freighter recently delivered by Boeing Co. from its facilities near Seattle, Washington. The seats, a variant of TIMCO’s popular 2054 business class seat, are added to cargo aircraft for additional crew on long haul routes and for other cargo airline personnel.
This marks a second “first” for TIMCO when it comes to Boeing and new cargo aircraft as its seats are also installed on deliveries of Boeing’s 777 Freighter, which first entered service in 2009.
Rick Salanitri, President of TIMCO Aerosystems said, “The TIMCO team is quite proud to have our light weight, fuel-saving seats flying on Boeing’s popular new cargo aircraft. We look forward to the privilege of continuing to serve Boeing and its cargo airline customers with innovative seating solutions for many years to come.”
